The Barnabas Network Partners With ReSupply
Mobile App Lets Donors Schedule Their Own Pickups
Greensboro, N.C. –The Barnabas Network, the furniture bank located at 838 Winston Street, Greensboro, NC 27405, is the first nonprofit organization in the Triad to partner with ReSupply, a Boston-headquartered developer of a mobile app that makes donating furniture a one-click process. Donors now have the option of downloading the ReSupply app or using the “Schedule a Pickup” button on Barnabas’s website to schedule furniture donation pick-ups.
Donors using the ReSupply app will receive a text message the morning of the pickup with a reminder, and will have the option to donate using a credit or debit card before the pickup. Upon successful donation, the app will automatically send a tax receipt and thank-you message. Donors who prefer to not use the app may still call 336-370-4002 to schedule a pickup, or drop off donations at the warehouse Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
The ReSupply feature comes at a time when Barnabas is preparing for a 25% increase in client referrals due to the economic impact of COVID-19, and the organization aims to be ready to meet that need. “It all comes down to furniture,” said Barnabas Executive Director Derrick Sides. “We want to be the go-to for everyone in the community who has furniture to donate so we can send that furniture right back out into the home of a neighbor who needs it. The added convenience of online scheduling in the form of the ReSupply app is a game changer.”
The Barnabas Network gives free home furnishings to individuals and families transitioning from homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, overcoming major setbacks, and living on incomes that do not cover basic needs. Last year, Barnabas served 2,500 individuals in more than 800 households. This amounted to more than 8,000 pieces of furniture, including 1,067 beds, half of which went to school-age children.
